Google has introduced a new method of verifying your web site in Google Webmaster Tools. The new method is to use the Google Analytics asynchronous code to verify your site in Google Webmaster Tools.
It must be the newer asynchronous code, but if you use that code, you can quickly gain access to the site in Google Webmaster Tools. You must be the administrator of the site in Google Analytics to verify the site using this method. But once it is verified, you can then quickly share the data with others.
In addition, Google “improved interface for verification” by adding more information about each verification method, including step-by-step instructions for some verification methods. The last time Google revamped the verification page was in October 2009.
The new Analytics verification method now gives you four ways to verify you site in Google Webmaster Tools. They include:
* Add a DNS record to your domain’s configuration
* Add a meta tag to your site’s home page
* Upload an HTML file to your server
* Link to your Google Analytics account

Discover How To Use Analytics To Improve Web Conversions
The goal of any web presence should be to improve the business as a whole and complement its offline marketing and sales efforts. In other words, to help it achieve maximum profitability. In order to do this, your online strategy must: Drive targeted traffic to your site, persuade site visitors to take the desired actions you want them to take, and use Web metrics to analyze and measure user behavior. Performing these objectives correctly will ensure that you have an effective marketing campaign and increased sales for your business.
Driving targeted traffic begins with a search engine marketing (SEM) campaign including pay-per-click advertising (PPC) and a search engine optimization (SEO) strategy. It's important to determine which keywords are worth pursuing in your PPC and SEO efforts. Determine how frequently each phrase is searched for, and evaluate which are feasible enough to put efforts into by checking how steep the competition is. Make your selections and test them out in your PPC and SEO campaigns Researching and selecting effective keywords is extremely important. Be sure to select keywords that your target market would use to find you.
With web metrics and analysis in place, you will be able to tell where people are coming from, what keywords they used to find you, and whether they are taking the desired actions on your site. If the wrong keywords are chosen, you may find that you have high rankings, but the wrong audience is visiting. Whether you are selling a product or service, obtaining newsletter subscribers, or enticing people to download a software demo, your ultimate goal is getting your site visitors to take a desired action. In order to do this you must have a compelling site that draws the visitor in, and then guides them to the goal. Design and site architecture factors such as usability, navigation, content, and ad copy all come into play here.
The key is to monitor how well these factors work at persuading your visitors into taking action. With web metrics you can monitor everything and see what's working and what's not. Armed with this knowledge, you can make the appropriate changes to your site; continue monitoring, and repeat the process until you get an increase in the desired outcome.
The area of web metrics and analysis is new and evolving. Compared to traditional offline marketing, the Internet provides an unparalleled opportunity to specifically measure how a customer interacts with a business. Web metrics and analysis will help you to monitor and improve objectives. This is done by paying close attention to where visitors are coming from, learning what keywords were used to find your site, seeing how they navigated through it, and what actions they took along the way. This information becomes a powerful tool in growing your business.

Google Analytics needed 'for any online marketing'
All companies should use Google Analytics for their online marketing campaigns, one expert has suggested.
Rich Brooks, who runs his own internet marketing firm, explained to Maine Business readers exactly how to set up Google Analytics for their websites, claiming that it gives firms a useful insight into the behavior of their customers.
"It's a required component of any web marketing strategy," he remarked.
Once Analytics has been set up, businesses should look at the information it provides and adapt their marketing tactics accordingly, Mr Brooks recommended.
He stated that there are numerous easy-to-use guides available online for businesses looking to utilise the tool.
As well as using Google Analytics for internet marketing, firms should make sure their website's follow a consistent structure in order to help them make the most of search engine optimisation, Aaron Wall wrote for Search Engine Land last month.
By planning carefully in advance, firms can avoid filling their sites with broken links, which can hinder search engine rankings, he explained.

What are The Benefits of Directory Submission?
Before even talking about benefits, do you know what directory submission is? It is a concept similar to the yellow pages, or directory assistance. Essentially, it gets your website listed in different web directories. Now, what are the benefits or directory submission?
Directory submission gets your website known to a wider number of people. Two web directories are Google and Yahoo. It is just like opening a phone directory. All you will see are business or personal listings arranged alphabetically. If you are looking for a certain service, it would be so easy to look it up. But did you notice that some listings are larger than others, bolder or more colorful? The business that did that had to pay more, but it is a justified expense because your eyes tend to zoom in on the large box or the bold print. Isn't it true that you normally would call that highlighted business, simply because it is bigger or bolder?
The same principle works with web directories. Submitting your website into a directory means getting your website indexed. It lets people know you exist and that you are open for business. It gets you noticed.
Another benefit of directory submission are the links. It has one way links or links exchanged with other complimentary sites. For example, if you are a website for men and their hobbies, you could have links with retailers of certain gadgets and toys, and vice versa. This can help drive more people to visit your website. Thus, it can boost your search engine optimization.

20 Analytics Tools For Blogs
There are a lot of data points that can be meaningful for tracking blog effectiveness. That is, tracking what happens when visitors arrive at and engage with your blog content.
